Q15. What is ‘Locality’

Locality is a government agency.

It is one of the positive things to come out of the Localism Bill of 2012, which was meant to encourage more local people to become engaged in community projects.  Locality is the agency through which government funding is be channeled to such projects.

Locality have already provided Eastington with funding to help develop and publish the Neighbourhood Development Plan, and so far has given the ECLT £9,750 towards the costs of our feasibility study.  If  the feasibility is positive, a further grant of up to £40,000 is available to pay for the Planning Permission application process.
