Q16. Will ECLT have input to the design?

Yes.

Thanks to the ‘Locality’ grant, it is ECLT who actually ’employs’ the architect, so we have a lot of control over both the site layout and the individual buildings.  There will be full public consultations as we go along.

We will have to be mindful, though, of the constraints imposed by the site (there are a lot of underground pipes and cables to work around, as well as a need to  mitigate the motorway noise) and then the need to stay within the ‘affordable’ budget.

The  final architect’s designs will be agreed between ECLT (with public support) and Aster (who, in the end, are the ones footing the bill).
